Kiara Fitzhenry is a 22-year-old who has grown up in Johannesburg. At high school, she competed in horse riding and hockey at both provincial and national levels. After finishing school, she went on to complete her BSc (Sport Science) undergraduate degree at the University of Pretoria (Tuks), before completing her Honours in Biokinetics in 2023 – also at Tuks . During her university years she focused on her hockey, playing for Tuks’ Ladies First Team as well as for Northern Gauteng.
Kiara is passionate about both exercise and helping people, both of which she feels are perfectly combined in Biokinetics. Throughout her life, she has suffered from numerous injuries, including a number of stress fractures. These injuries, together with her interest in promoting health and wellness, became the driving force behind her decision to study Biokinetics.
Kiara believes in implementing a holistic approach when it comes to rehabilitation and patient treatment. Her philosophy centres around respect, empathy and integrity, emphasizing the importance of individualized care and empowering patients to actively participate in their rehabilitation journey. Kiara is primarily interested in promoting health through movement – particularly within the elderly population, sports injury rehabilitation and sports conditioning.
With her comprehensive background and dedication to individualized care, Kiara is a valuable addition to our team, embodying the principles of Biokinetics in her professional endeavors.
